"The Spitting Tree" is the second episode of the first season of Harvey Beaks.

Synopsis[]

Spitting from the highest tree in Littlebark is fun until the kids realize they can't get back down.

Plot[]

Jeremy, initially mistaking the rain for a spring shower, realizes it's actually a torrent of spit from a group of mischievous kids. Chaos ensues as Princess ends up spitting on Dade, leading to laughter and a lively atmosphere. Fee and Foo, familiar with such antics, invite Harvey to join them in their favorite spitting spot in the forest.

Excited by the idea, Harvey agrees to go with Fee and Foo to a high tree. As they reach the top, Harvey starts feeling nervous about the height and suggests they descend. Princess volunteers to go first, boasting about her climbing skills, but unfortunately, a branch breaks, and she falls from the tree. Thankfully, she survives the fall with only a few broken branches. The group realizes they are now stranded, as all the branches have been broken off.

Harvey tries to wake up Princess, who fell into asleep, to seek her help in finding a way down. However, Princess wakes up and refuses to help them. Feeling hopeless, the kids start panicking and doubting their chances of being rescued. As Fee attempts to calm everyone down, Harvey suggests that they stay up in the tree and create their own society. Harvey assigns roles to each person, envisioning a functioning community within the treetop.

Just as they start accepting their fate, Princess returns with their parents, who have come to their rescue. With their rescue imminent, most of the kids decide to jump onto a pile of leaves prepared by their parents. Harvey refuses to jump at first, but with the support of Fee and Foo, he gathers the courage to take the leap. The trio jumps down safely, and Harvey excitedly recounts his experience to his relieved parents. Princess, still upset, gets spat on again and demands crystals as a form of retribution.
